This week has been really good for me with my internship. We are getting our spring line in so the store is looking colorful and fresh.. which is more exciting than you might think. I really like the brands I am seeing so far and I am exciting to see what is left to come in next week. There is a bunch of old clothes on the sale rack, that if they dont sell by next week they are going to donate them to Playto's Closet, so that will be nice.
Last night, by bosses took me out to the NW wine bar for dinner. Since I haven't really got to know them in the store they wanted me to get the chance to get to know them and the business a little bit more. They just returned from a trend show in Las vegas, so they told me all about that and how the process works. They shows me line sheets and color sheets, sort of like what they saw at the market so I could see what they get to choose from (it is overwhelming). They told me all about the different brands and how difficult it was to get the store started with a select few of the brands. They also told me all about the ordering system and how they work with their reps. I had such a great time with them and I really learned a lot about the business. So far, it has been the most informative and exciting night of my internship. It really got me thinking about wanting a business like this.

Cupcake Couture update
February has been OK so far here at the store. Currently my boss's are in LA at market watching trend shows, and Im sure having a great time. I cant wait to hear what they have to say about it and the new trends for spring 2010. Since they are gone, I opened and closed the store tuesday and thursday. It has been pretty slow this week, but there were a lot of sales on Saturday, so that was fun. I am really enjoying seeing all the aspects of the store. My boss offered me a paid job once my internship is up. so I am really excited about that. My hours will be done in March, and they are going to take me out to dinner and answer any questions I have about the store and how it works.. I am really looking forward to learning even more about it.
Sincerely,
Elie Wiese
